The Pond and GinGan

Just up from the knot garden the pond is located at the eastern side of the nursery in the shade of ancient sycamores.

The pond is quite well hidden and some customers who have been visiting for years haven't known it exists!

Old sleepers form the shape and give strength to the raised pond. The pond is fed by a natural spring that fed the old well for the house. This is now a main feature itself along with the water 'steps' that flow into it which is made from a slate snooker table.

The whole area is surrounded by ancient sycamore trees and herbaceous borders. The steps lead upto the GinGan which was created by Chris after visiting the reclaimation yard and setting eyes on a massive old telegraph pole, the corner posts are reclaimed from an old quay.
